Ashley

Ashley is a P2 girl. She is shy and uncooperative. She does not answer easy questions and nods or shakes her head without replying to my questions. She reads softly and does not dare to project her voice. She does not want to continue a conversation the sessions are very awkward and uncomfortable i think for the both of us. A conversation can only be accomplished when two or more people participate, and this is not working out. She has since stopped our program.

Joshua

Joshua is an avid primary 5 reader. Before our program Joshua had already a strong reading base as his family comes to the library very often to borrow books He reads many books but is really lazy and chooses books from the 6-9 range even though he is 12. He is able to continue and maintain conversations and answer critical, inferential questions from books. He however does not venture into different genre of books and clings on to fictional books. He is unafraid to project his voice in the library, often getting reprimanded for the noise. He is currently on primary 5 flashcards with words like "nonplussed" and "solitary".
